When Lennon was just 18 months old, he was brought to the ACH Emergency Department for a head injury. He was assessed quickly and treated with care and compassion. Lennon's parents especially appreciated that their ACH care team was able to make Lennon laugh, despite the stressful situation. Lennon is a tender-hearted kid who loves hunting, fishing and basketball.

When Anna was 9, she was diagnosed with a kidney disorder and was admitted to ACH. Through treatment, including IV and infusion medications, Anna's care team removed 15 pounds of fluid from her body. During treatment, the physicians and entire care team made Anna feel comfortable and took the time to make sure her parents knew the plan and what to expect. Anna is a free spirit with aspirations of becoming a YouTuber or a baker.

At just 6 months old, doctors at ACH discovered the bones in Eva's skull were joining together too early. During treatment of that condition, and subsequent visits for another issue, Eva and her parents experienced the caring attitude of all of the nurses, physicians and staff at ACH. Outgoing and fun, Eva loves building and creating things. She also loves reading, music, and having dance parties.

When James was 1, he came down with a fever and was having trouble breathing. His mother, Sarah, rushed him to the Emergency Department at ACH. With her husband also sick, Sarah was welcomed and comforted by the ACH team when she arrived-tired, scared and alone with a sick child. James is now 5 and loves to listen to books, especially about nature. He is a huge fan of dinosaurs and wants to be a paleontologist.

At age 2, McKinnon was diagnosed with an eye condition that could prevent his vision from developing normally. Since 2017, McKinnon has visited the ACH Eye Clinic every six months for treatment, including glasses, patching and eye drops. Through it all, McKinnon felt comfortable and confident as a patient because of the support of his ACH. The care McKinnon received from his ACH team has allowed him to navigate his vision issues and enjoy the best quality of life, which includes reading, creating experiments and playing many different sports.

At the age of 3, Locke has already had two open-heart surgeries at ACH. Diagnosed with Tetralogy of Fallot at birth, his team at ACH has worked to correct obstructions and narrowing in his arteries. But the compassion his family experienced at ACH doesn't stop there. Locke's parents, Ben and Mandy, also connected with another ACH family whose son has TOF, and have remained close with them over the last three years. Locke is a high energy little guy and loves to play soccer, read, and learn about the world around him.

When Susan Grace was 7, she began complaining of knee and leg pain. At the ACH Orthopedic Clinic, Susan Grace was diagnosed with knock knees. Her parents, Frances and David Mitchell, Jr., say they were impressed with the friendliness of the medical staff and thoroughness of testing, including a brand new x-ray machine that supplied a detailed image. Susan Grace is now in second grade and loves gymnastics, soccer, tennis and basketball.

Jack is always smiling, telling jokes and is constantly in motion. But when he came down with the flu last year, he developed complications and was admitted to ACH. The nurses' care and focus on Jack's well-being and comfort is something Jack and his parents will never forget. During his stay at ACH, his mom, Amanda, told him she wished he was up jumping on the beds like he did when he was well. Now Jack is full of energy again and reminds his family of that wish whenever he can.

Samantha is an energetic 7-year-old with dreams of becoming a veterinarian or marine biologist. With heart testing at 2 months old and current continued monitoring of her ASD, Samantha and her parents, Sarah and Brady, are thankful for how wonderful and comforting the staff are during their visits. During their very stressful initial visits, the staff made them feel at ease. Samantha loves the outdoors, riding her bike, making forts and doing craft projects.

Caroline participated in the Good Mourning program after her brother Fletcher passed away. Caroline was just 5 years old at the time, and her parents are grateful for the trained caregivers at ACH who helped Caroline deal with her grief and meet with other children her age suffering loss. Caroline is a kindhearted and loving child who makes everyone feel important. She loves science and reading and can't decide what she wants to be when she grows up.

Miles was diagnosed with Leukemia at the age of 2 and is currently undergoing treatment and chemotherapy. His parents are thankful for their Hematology/Oncology care team and their wonderful doctor, Dr. David Becton. Miles is now 5, and is an intelligent, clever, caring and charming boy who loves to chat. He keeps his parents on their toes! Miles loves singing along with Disney movies and playing with his 2-year-old little sister, Aubrey. Miles has many wonderful characteristics, but the one his parents admire most is his bravery.
