Proceeds from Laugh for a Smile support uninsured or state-insured children, pregnant women, patients with special health needs, and adults who disproportionately struggle with access to dental care and have nowhere else to turn, except to Community Smiles Dental.

Pat McGann

You laughed -We listened. So for 2023, back by popular demand is comedian

Pat McGann is quickly rising as one of the sharpest stand-ups in the comedy world. A relative latecomer to the scene, Pat began stand up at the age of 31 after realizing he was not very good at selling packaging. He hustled his way to become the house emcee at Zanies Chicago, where he distinguished himself as especially adept at working the crowd. A husband and father of three young children, Pat's appeal stems from his quick wit & relatable take on family life & marriage. In 2017, McGann began touring as the opening act for Sebastian Maniscalco, moving with him from clubs, to theater, and to arenas, including four sold out shows at Madison Square Garden. McGann's impressive resume includes performances on The Late Show with David Letterman, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Montreal's famed Just For Laughs Festival, Gilda's LaughFest, The Great American Comedy Festival and the Nashville Comedy Fest. McGann still calls Chicago home.

· The Community Partner Award honors a long-standing partnership and significant financial supporter crucial to CSD's dental care programs. This year's honoree, Delta Dental of Wisconsin Foundation, has invested over $1 million in CSD's growth since our creation in 2008. Their generosity has included significant capital campaign gifts towards the development of both our Waukesha and Menomonee Falls clinics. Furthermore, the Foundation has provided ongoing and generous partnership, advice, door-opening, and advocacy for public dentistry and the CSD mission for all 15 years of its existence.

· The Chairman's Smile Award is given annually to an individual/s who have played an integral role in the success of the clinic and in making more smiles healthy for some of our region's most vulnerable patients. In 2023, we are honored to celebrate one of the most substantial people who contributed to our 15-year history, Hanneke Deeken. Hanneke was a ProHealth Care Community Outreach nurse who worked within the School District of Waukesha and served as the first champion for the concept of CSD. Through Hanneke's vision and tenacity, a group was formed to envision and conceive Community Smiles Dental, known initially as the Waukesha County Community Dental Clinic. Hanneke went on to provide 14 years of leadership on the Board of Directors, including two terms as our Board Chair. Today, she continues her volunteer service as the Co-Chair of our first-ever Executive Leadership Council and continues to support our fund development and door-opening efforts.
