Designed and created by TimeLine Company Member and Resident Dramaturg, Maren Robinson. 1923 was the year King Tutankhamun's tomb was discovered and it started a craze for all things Egyptian, particularly in women's fashion. The style became known as Egyptian Revival. In jewelry, they wanted to evoke the materials found in Egyptian jewelry, gold, lapis, turquoise and coral. This set of jewelry is inspired by the Egyptian Revival of the 1920s; the necklace, bracelet and earrings all incorporate coral and turquoise with gold and jet, but with the long necklace style favored in the '20s. The black carved stone brooch is in the shape of a lotus, a motif found throughout Egyptian art. You could keep the set or divide it with friends.
