Iconic Hudson River fish like the Atlantic sturgeon, striped bass, American eels and shad are in dire straits. Their populations have crashed to less than five percent of their historic levels due to overfishing and habitat destruction. Your generosity tonight will help us:

• Remove dams to give back desperately needed spawning and feeding habitats
• Improve water quality in the Hudson River and its tributaries
• Pull tons of trash and debris out of the river and off our shorelines during the Riverkeeper Sweep

Keep the Riverkeeper Boat Afloat

Every year, the Riverkeeper boat, the R. Ian Fletcher, captained by John Lipscomb, patrols more than 5,000 nautical miles on the Hudson River from the New York Harbor to the Erie Canal. Your generosity tonight will help us:

• Maintain our monthly patrols, keeping our eyes on the River
• Refit and repair the R. Ian Fletcher during its annual check-up

Support Riverkeeper's Legal Fund

Over the last 55 years, Riverkeeper's advocacy and litigation have won notable victories for the Hudson River including the shutdown and prompt decommissioning of Indian Point, halting Con Edison's plans to build a power plant on Storm King Mountain and the (ongoing) removal of PCB's in the Hudson River

• Continue our legal battles to improve water quality in New York City waterways
• Insist that the EPA hold GE accountable for PCB contamination in the Hudson
