For this year's Fund a Need, we would like to focus on teacher compensation. We realize that teacher raises are not an appropriate topic for this type of event. We are hoping to begin a fund for teacher and staff grants.

These grants could be requested by the teacher or staff member for self improvement topics such as specialized training or furthering one's education. They would also be for teacher and staff recognition for a job well done. A third area where these grants could come into place would simply be teacher or staff need. We realize that life happens and sometimes there are financial needs that come up; we would like to have the funds to help in these cases.

These funds would be kept separate from other general education funds and would be awarded by the education committee.
