Description

Whimsical design! The center is a formal grouping of rainbow hued squares, set on diagonal, with a traditional gold border. However, the rainbow hearts border and surfing dogs (on the backside) add the whimsy! Super fun! Anyone will love this quilt, but, maybe, especially dog lovers.

Kaffe Fasset fabrics bring bright and bold color to this quilt. Bright oranges and warm colors will cozy up any corner of your home. One of my favorite baby quilts or table topper. This quilt could also be cut and trimmed to make a tree skirt (just ask us). Enjoy!

Fabric sometimes comes in precut strips. Fabric donated by Jini. Added pieces and sewn together by Tracy. Off to quilter Sue. Back to Jini to add the binding and hand sewn by Melissa. Round and round this piece went to the best of our quilting community.

The center block of this quilt was a block exchange with several members of the Madison Modern Quilt Guild. Once we exchanged pieces of the block, we met virtually to sew them together and then shared our final projects once we decided how to use them. I thought my block was a great start to a baby quilt.

Child's quilt with satin-stitched, colorful applique animals and rainbow fabric border. This quilt is adorable! Each animal is appliqued with extra details. The bordered edge is individually sewn scraps of different colors. A lot of work went into this creative beauty.

As a teacher, I came to know students in the LGBTQ school community, who, as teenagers, struggled to find themselves and their place in the world. In helping them, it was as much a growing experience for me as for them. I learned of their many concerns, and sadly, for some, I was not a fast enough learner. For others, I was a part of their support system as they matured into adulthood and found their places in society. Now, as a grandmother, I am able to support my grandchild in his life journey.
