One of two especially rare exotic-Hereford finds in the offering, this is the first of two full brothers to Open Bar Cattle's famous 003 donor and Hale Cattle's famous 019 donor that have formed the backbone of much of their impressive successes at recent Texas majors.

This bull is a dark red, thick one with outstanding muscle shape and natural width. He is plenty stout with an eye-catching balance and body shape plus impressive scrotal development. He got the TH-gene while his full brother (Lot 312) did not.

His full sister, Open Bar 003, is one of the most significant exotic-Hereford cows in Texas club calf history. She has yielded a string of recent high sellers and winners like the 2021 San Antonio Champion Hereford Steer, the Champion Polled Hereford Steer at Houston in 2017, great donor cows like the dam of the 2021 Sandhills Stock Show Supreme Champion Steer, and AI sires like Riptide whose sons include Champion Hereford at San Antonio in 2020. The 003 cow is a dominant player.

Likewise, the 019 cow - his other famous full sister - has been a huge player at Hale Cattle with sons like the 2015 Ft. Worth Champion Hereford Steer and a long list high-selling steers and heifers including more than one in our Share the Future Sale.

You can look far and wide and probably never find two brothers like lots 311 and 312. Their full sister is rewriting the history books and their dam was a one-of-a-kind Barber Ranch cow.
