The Castell Guide Service has been providing quality fly fishing guidance and instruction in the Texas Hill Country since 2002. It is our mission to provide the best guiding and instruction to both new and experienced anglers looking to explore the diverse fishing opportunities available in the Texas Hill Country. We specialize in the winter months on Guadalupe River fly fishing for rainbow trout, and in the spring and fall on fly fishing the Llano River, San Marcos, and Colorado Rivers for warm water species such as Guadalupe Bass, Rio Grande Cichlids and Carp.

Dan Cone is the owner and primary guide for the Castell Guide Service. He grew up fishing and hunting in the heart of the Texas Hill Country, spending many of his summer days on the Llano River. He is a graduate of Texas A&M University, Class of 1999. After completing his studies he returned to Llano and got a "real job" but found himself spending more and more time fishing on the rivers of the Texas Hill Country and in 2002 began guiding on the Llano River.

A trip for 1 angler to Patagonia, in Le Fario Lodge, for 7 nights / 6 fly fishing days in Argentina inside Los Alerces National Park, declared World Heritage in 2017. This trip has to be used during the season that runs from November 1st 2022 until May 1st 2023.

The diversity of fishing that offers our area is one of the main reasons why anglers decide to come and fish with us. There are spring creeks, private waters, small and big rivers, still waters and lakes in a spectacular setting. Fishing with dry flies, wet flies, streamers or nymphs to catch wild rainbows, browns, brookies or salmon introduced in our country in the beginning of last century.

Le Fario Lodge can host 8 anglers per week and while cooking dinner, you can always have the chance to fish the hatch in our coast, where the average if of 20 inches and often even more than 23. Placed in the hillside of Andes Mountains and in a property of 75 acres property, we combine a cozy ambient, with outstanding meals and wines. Both of the owners, Gonzalo and Laura are chefs. So they provide exquisite homemade meals with most of the products from the lodge`s garden. They will host you and make everything possible to make your staying unforgettable.

Our staff of professional fly fishing guides know every spot in the area

as well as the abundance of waters in and around the area. Pristine, seldom touched waters await the adventurous fly-fisherman. The guides will work with you to ensure you get to fish a large variety of fisheries in the area.

While in Rio Pico area you will be lodged in a private shepherd Estancia, placed in the banks of the Rio Pico itself. This will offer the angler the chance to fish in two different Patagonia areas, both amazing, but different.

Each trip is customized depending on guests fishing preferences, like for instance just wading, floating or a combination between them. It is always catch & release in all the water mirrors and courses of Los Alerces National Park and surroundings.
