  • 6 tickets to the Scythian concert on March 5, 2023 at the Athenaeum
  • $50 to the Galway Arms in Lincoln Park

Twin Fiddles. Driving rhythm. Fun for the whole family.

Led by Ukrainian-American brothers Alex and Danylo Fedoryka, Scythian (pronounced "sith-ee-in") plays roots music from Celtic, Eastern European, and Appalachian traditions with thunderous energy, technical prowess, and storytelling.
They bring various influences together to create a conglomerate which is technically precise and steeped in various folk traditions, beckoning crowds into a barn-dance, rock concert experience.

The classically-trained Fedorykas grew up on Ukrainian folk music and bluegrass, bassist Ethan Dean was raised on the greats of 60's & 70's folk-rock, and Louisiana-born drummer Johnny Rees brings a Cajun backbeat to the Celtic-Americana fusion-giving Scythian yet another dimension which keeps audiences entertained and moving. Through their music, they bring the spirit of roving Ukrainian fiddlers to their own audience; and make everyone stop for a moment and dance without a care!

Chicago's own "The Great Whiskey Project" will open, Trinity Irish Dance will make a special appearance!
