Ruck 412 - Michael became inspired to help RMHC when he and several of his coworkers prepared a family meal at the Charity. "I knew after that experience I wanted to volunteer." Michael's P.O.P. fundraiser is known as Ruck 41.2. Michael and a group of his friends walked 41.2 miles around North Park outside of Pittsburgh, PA while carrying weighted backpacks, thinking of RMHC Families every step of the way. Michael was able to raise over $7,000 for RMHC!

Walking for a Cause - The WVU School of Dentistry "Cavity Crushers" raised $1,955 after organizing their own 5K for RMHC. ??Team leader, Brittany, shared why she was inspired to walk for RMHC, "During my undergraduate studies, I frequented pediatric oncology units, during difficult diagnoses and treatments, having family support is crucial. RMHC provides families with a safe haven while their child is enduring chronic and or terminal illnesses. The House provides a place to stay, meals, and also beacons of hope during their hospital stay."

Skating Around the World - In 2021, the Western Pennsylvania High School Figure Skating Team held their 7th annual Skating Around the World event. The team raised over $1,400 this year, which brings them to a grand total of over $17,000 raised over the past seven years! Sharon of Sharon's Skate Shop organizes the event each year. She explains, "This event is very special to me! It warms my heart to watch how much the skaters enjoy creating and preparing for their performances. There's a purpose and motivation that's like no other. Doing something nice for others is something I hope every person has an opportunity to experience."

Additional Examples:

Dress Down Days - Throughout 2021, numerous schools and businesses held dress down days with the proceeds benefitting RMHC! These schools and businesses would ask their staff for a small donation allowing them to wear jeans to work.

Village Green Splash Day - In the summer of 2021, Village Green apartment complex held their annual Splash Day benefitting RMHC! Residents were encouraged to make an online donation and purchase tickets for exciting raffles for special prizes; all proceeds and donations went directly to RMHC!
