Being a multi cultured, classically trained, outsider artist. Multiple mediums and styles in the genre of post modern and Afro contemporary; featuring various products and creations does not leave enough breath for the range experimented; from art direction and curation, illustration, to sculpting, and industrial design to fashion design.
After taking classes at Columbia College and UIC; in between commercial work and passion projects, a foray in street art, an underlying message of community, ecology and progress with an appreciation for past aesthetic has developed in every aspect of the work.

Founded in 2012, The Haitian American Museum of Chicago (HAMOC) is the realization of a dream by its co-founder, Elsie Hernandez, to create an institution that would hold programs and exhibits that will contribute to the rich multicultural tapestry that is Chicago. Since opening, the museum has hosted a wide array of programs and exhibits showcasing Haiti's rich culture and art as well as its complex history. M. Carla Carr is currently Assistant Professor of Art/Humanities for the City Colleges of Chicago and serves as Director on the Haitian American Museum of Chicago (HAMOC) Executive Board. Carla is an activist, project manager, public art muralist and freelance artist. The art of Carla Carr has been included in numerous exhibitions in venues such as, Anacostia Museum: Smithsonian Institute, The National Museum of Mexican Fine Art, Museum of Science & Industry of Chicago, Field Museum of Chicago among numerous other institutions both in the U.S. and abroad.
