"Appalachian Ghost, Untitled #2";

"Barbie Swimmers" is an archival pigment print framed 17x 22" from the series "Barbie from 2010".
David Levinthal's photographs of vintage Barbies showcase the height of fashion from the 1950s to the early 1970s. Photographed more like real models than like toys, these dolls capture the glamour and oppressed sexuality of the post-war generations. The images strike a balance between criticism-of the idealization of the female form and the objectification of women-and kitsch-fun and colorful depictions of a familiar icon.
"Superheroes" is a triptych consisting of 3-20x24" C-Prints. "Superheroes' was created in 2004, and is the 4th piece in an edition of 12.
The photographs are face-mounted with acrylic and mounted on aluminum. Hilliard says of his multi-paneled pieces, "To me, the construction of panoramic photographs, comprised of various single images, acts as a visual language. Focal planes shift, panel by panel. This sequencing of photographs and shifting of focal planes allows me the luxury of guiding the viewer across the photograph, directing their eye; an effect which could not be achieved through a single image."

"Maeve of the Pond" was created in 2016. The image area is 6.25" x7.5" on 9.5"x12" paper.

"Watermelon Vendor, Acapulco, Mexico," is the 16th print of this image. It is an archival pigment print, photographed in 1993 and printed in 2020. The image area is 8.5"x13" on 11" x 14" paper.
The Director of Rivier University said of this photograph while it was in exhibition in the gallery that "Lou Jones might be identified as a proud citizen of the world, one who with great affection and visual acuity detects the deeper relationships between environments and their impact on the human experience."

Ralph Mercer says that his photography muses are Bill Brandt and Harry Callahan. He says, "Both men picked up a camera loaded with black and white film and investigated their environments and personal worlds with a brilliant sense of experimentation and design. Emulating their dedication and artistic imperatives, I pursue the sensual and the abstract through camera manipulation and digital composite techniques."
