Bowl has a food safe finish and can be used as a salad or fruit bowl or for decorative purposes.

To clean, simply wipe out with a damp cloth and let air dry. Never immerse in water, place in a dishwasher, or use to reheat items in a microwave.

About the artisan: My grandfather immigrated from Norway when he was 21, then proceeded to build his own successful cabinet making business. I was always interested in his work and working with wood from an early age; I think woodworking was always in my blood. Shop class was a favorite for me. Just a few years ago, I attended an introductory class on bowl-making on the lathe and was hooked. For me, a big part of the fun in turning is to see what the wood reveals once you begin turning the piece and especially the magical moment when you apply a finish. It's amazing what nature provides once you release the bowl from the log!
