Honoring: Nick Citera & Nicolas DiBrizzi
The owners of Cosimo's Restaurant Group and Cosimo's Development Group have been proud residents of the Hudson Valley since the 1970s. Nick Citera earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business and Marketing from Marist College in 1987 while consistently working in his family's businesses both here and abroad. Nicolas DiBrizzi earned his degree in business and finance from Pace University in 2000.
Cosimo's Restaurant Group has helped develop and build some of the most iconic restaurants in the Hudson Valley beginning with the original brick oven concept at Cosimo's on Union, which has since gone on to become a Hudson Valley institution. Nick and Nicolas were also instrumental in the revitalization of the Newburgh waterfront as well as the restoration of the historic West Shore Station which would eventually become the home to a new "fast-casual" concept called simply, The Pizza Shop alongside their famed Hudson Taco.
Owning restaurants goes hand in hand with seeking out real estate opportunities for future investments. After years of involvement in the construction and creation of their various operations, Nick and Nicolas decided to formalize the real estate arm of the business and formed CDG Development Group whose main focus is the development of commercial real estate. Some notable properties in the area are the Shops at Union Square, Village Shoppes, Hyde Park Town Center and North Point Commons and Greenbaum Square.
Always humble and grateful for the success they have achieved, the owners take every opportunity to give back to the community that has supported their endeavors. Whether it's being a strong advocate for the Food Bank of the Hudson Valley through active participation on the advisory board for over 25 years or serving on the Advisory Board for Hudson Valley Restaurant Week which has brought unprecedented business to the Hudson Valley since its inception in 2006, commitment to the community and their neighbors is clearly a high priority of the group. Nick Citera currently services on the boards of Hospice, the Marist School of Management, Culinary Institute Society of Fellows and previously served 9 years on the Board of Trustees at Montefiore-St.Lukes Cornwall Hospital. Their commitment extends to future generations as well as evidenced by the creation of the "Cosimo DiBrizzi Scholarship Fund" in association with the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce. This scholarship awards a local high school student that plans to go to the Culinary and shows a passion for the Hospitality Industry
Nick Citera resides in Poughkeepsie with Rossana, his wife of 31 years, and his two sons, Gaetano and Nicola. Nicolas DiBrizzi resides in the Town of Newburgh with his wife Alyssa and two young daughters, Tallulah and Caia.
