Casa Dumetz Wine Tasting for 4

It all started in 2004 with a tiny patch of raw earth and a bucket of grapevines to make a dream come true. Ground. Grapes. Grit.

The initial goal was to produce Pinot Noir from these grapevines. "The best-laid plans...." In the process of digging in the dirt, we learned the true meaning of terroir and its absolutely vital role in producing premium fruit.

Starting in 2017, the Casa Dumetz label began producing one singular Pinot Noir from the Sta. Rita Hills. Each vintage explores a different, unique vineyard within the appellation. In the 2020 vintage, we are introducing a kindred Chardonnay to the Casa Dumetz label, sourced exclusively from the LaBarge Estate off of Sweeney Canyon road planted on the western edge of the Sta. Rita Hills.

If you know Pierre LaBarge, owner, and vigneron, you know his farming responsibilities are executed with extreme care. We are beyond excited to be the sole recipient of the only Chardonnay planted on this property. Thank you, Pierre.

Today, Casa Dumetz is the overall umbrella for our three labels, which include Clementine Carter and The Feminist Party. The Rhône varietals are dedicated to our Clementine Carter label. Our principal multi-varietal blend is The Feminist Party GSM, highlighting our collaborative drive.

About your tasting. All of the magic is currently taking place outside in our garden patio area. We offer pre-poured tasting flights of 6 wines.

$150 Gift Card to the Hitching Post In Casmalia

Casmalia, California, former cow-town of the Old West, is where California-style barbequing was brought to perfection by the pioneers.

The Hitching Post has brought this live-oak California-style barbequing to perfection bringing choice, aged beef to the ultimate of gourmet flavor and tenderness while we keep alive the traditions of the old romantic West.

The weatherworn walls of our 100-year-old building are crammed with memories that induce an atmosphere of Western nostalgia to the romantically inclined people who can relax and trade the pressures of the fast, modern world for an evening of Old West hospitality.

What is the secret to the BBQ that has become world-famous? The Hitching Post follows the method introduced long ago in the old west, beginning with the indoor bar-b-que pit. A good fire is extremely important, and for this, the Ostinis use red oak wood that comes exclusively from the scrub oak tree which is indigenous to the area. Frank Ostini instilled in his sons the importance of purchasing only the finest beef, aged to perfection.

They endeavor to keep alive the traditions of the old romantic West. The weather-beaten walls of the 100-year-old building are crammed with memories that induce an atmosphere of Western nostalgia to romantically inclined people who can relax and trade the pressures of the fast, modern world for an evening of Old West Hospitality.

Your Hosts: The Ostini Family Since 1952.
