David Gerbstadt is widely known for creating art that he leaves in public places for people to pick up. He wrote a book about his experience being struck by a semi-truck and his recovery. He exhibits his work at Philadelphia galleries as well as Bryn Mawr Rehab in its show for artists with disabilities, where his work has won awards. David is a fulltime artist who paints on canvas and discarded scraps of wood or cardboard, which he recycles into art. His art also includes metal sculpture and "Be Kind" buttons and car magnets.
