0By 1926, the Stinson family had been in the fledgling airplane business for over 12 years. Beginning with Kate, "The flying schoolgirl", then Madge, Eddy, Jack, and even Mamma Emma, they were all involved in some way with flying, building, selling, teaching, etc. Their Detroiter was the first four-passenger cabin biplane with heater, breaks, and electric starter. Appropriately enough, the first one was purchased by Horace Dodge, scion of the motor magnates - a "Detroiter" himself!
