2 Watchers

A winged bulldog with a tiny tail, pinched-in fuselage, clipped wings, and a great big radial engine that blocked out the world. That was the famous Monocoupe. It was born, fittingly enough, on April Fool's Day in 1927, and three years later at the U.S. National Air Races the line took first in fifteen events, including three cross-country derbies. The planes have been altered and modified in so many different ways, there's never been a "standard" model! But to pilots and people in the know, all of them are classic.
