Frank Loudin considers himself first and foremost a storyteller. His illustrative ability and fluidity with the watercolor medium have provided him the tools to tell loving and poetic stories through his paintings.

Frank studied architecture and art at the Universities of Colorado and New Mexico before heading west to complete his education at the prestigious Art Center School of Design in Los Angeles. A former member of The Aviation Artists of America, Frank's work has been commissioned for many calendars throughout the years.

Now, at 91 years old, Frank is seeking new homes for his collection. He has generously offered his works up for bid in an auction to benefit Orcas Center, an arts organization on Orcas Island in the Pacific Northwest, where Frank calls home.

Frank's subjects range from significant historical aircraft, to down-home Americana, to fantasy worlds that spark our own imagination. His work would be a fantastic conversation piece in any home, museum lobby, office setting, and would make a great gift for the holiday season!

The Visual Arts Committee is hosting an Opening Party Sunday, November 21 from 5pm-6:30pm at Orcas Center (917 Mt Baker Rd, Eastsound, WA). Attendees will have a chance to meet Frank, hear some of his stories, view his paintings, purchase a limited selection of signed prints, and learn how to bid in the online auction. There will also be a video presentation featuring Frank on a virtual tour of the show.

Mark your calendar for the Closing Party on Sunday, December 5 from 5-6:30pm. This will be the last chance Islanders will have to make their final and winning bids on the paintings that they love. For both in-person events, Orcas Center's COVID policy requires all patrons show proof of vaccination and be masked while indoors.
