ABOUT PASO:
Paso is the fastest growing wine region in CA, with over 250 wineries, including some of the best in the world, including Saxum, whose winemaker Justin Smith has received a whopping 100 points from Robert Parker and been selected the best wine of the world by the Wine Spectator. Paso regularly makes Top 10 lists for happiest residents and great quality of life. Ideally situated, it's the midway point between LA and San Francisco; It's 20 min away from the beaches of Cambria and Morro Bay and only 45 mi to Hearst Castle. Paso is geographically beautiful: nestled in the rolling foothills of the Central Coast's Santa Lucia Mountains, its landscape is dotted with majestic oak trees and untouched bucolic natural beauty where cows, horses and sheep freely roam and graze. Not lacking in sophistication, it is home to numerous high-end restaurants, many equal to or better than what you'd expect in LA or San Francisco.
In Paso, you are likely to actually meet a winemaker or two, not just be shuttled around impersonally. You will be hard pressed to meet a winemaker who hasn't been mentored by a seasoned pro or, similarly, who isn't now giving back and lending a helping hand to a new comer. In Paso, people genuinely are passionate, hardworking, neighborly - authentic.
