Chris Francoise

My name is Chris Francoise. I am the father of Sophie Peyton, Laroy Francoise and Will Francoise. My wife, Janet Peyton, and I are adoptive parents to our son, Laroy, who was adopted in the City of Richmond at the of age 12.5-13 years of age. Laroy is as precious to us as our two biological children. When we chose to adopt him, he was at an age where he had to agree to be adopted as well! We are so glad that he did so...

Although Laroy's adoption was an unlikely one, it all started with the influences of many important people in his life at the time - Rev. Lynne Washington, then the Director of Peter Paul Development Center in the East End of Richmond and her connection to Shrine Mont's St. George's camp, a summer camp run by the Episcopal Diocese of Virginia. His guardian ad-litem, his social worker/case manager all contributed to his journey. With important input from our children and the amazing diligence of my wonderful wife, Janet, in the summer of 2007, we made the decision to file the papers to request to adopt LaRoy and went through the Richmond Dept. of Social Services process of foster/adopt for a six-month training.

Very early on, social workers and adoption agency workers taught us the importance of understanding the circumstances of parenting kids who have suffered a loss, abandonment, and identity issues. Like many families, we had the typical struggles with the teenage years, however, Coordinators 2 Agency, Inc. (now C2Adopt) because of the type of services that they provide - helped us with some very important counseling to our family when we and our son needed some professional guidance when communicating with a birth family member. So, I knew first-hand what C2Adopt does for adoptive children's families with on-going counseling services contributing to our lifetime adoption journey!

C2Adopt is a non-profit, Virginia-licensed agency, that offers training and education, placement, and support services. Their unique approach to adoption is reflected in the range and types of services they offer and the lifetime partnership they provide to adoptive and birth families and adoptees.

I have recently joined the Board of C2Adopt and currently, between Mother's Day and Father's Day, I am asking that you please consider making a financial contribution to C2Adopt! No donation is too small to support C2Adopt.

Adopting through C2Adopt provides families with a lifetime of resources and support. They offer services to anyone whose life has been touched by adoption. Being able to offer a lifetime of resources to the adoption community as children grow and develop requires financial support far beyond client fees. You can help make a difference in the lives of children through your gifts of money. The cost to place one foster child with a family for adoption is $6,000.

Please help me to reach my goal during this campaign by considering a monetary donation to C2 Adopt!

Thank you for your consideration!
