1The Empirical 2013 Blend de Provence is a 50/50 blend of Grenache and Syrah. The Grenache was sourced from Colonial Green Vineyards (just steps outside the Happy Canyon AVA), while the Syrah came from the Westerly Estates (also known as Jack McGinley Vineyards) within the Happy Canyon AVA.
Blended together, the wine offers youthful aromas of bright red cherries, persimmon, warm spice and cinnamon. The palate is dry and complex with dark fruit notes of dark cherries and raspberries, with hints of spice. The tannins are round and soft, with fresh and savory nuances that linger on the finish.
