Marcia R. Cohen

Marcia R. Cohen, visual artist and educator, received a BFA from Wayne State University in Detroit Michigan and an MA from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. Her artwork and scholarship examines the intersection between color, nature and culture. Cohen maintains an active exhibition record and has lectured at national and international conferences dedicated to the interdisciplinary dimension of color. Awarded a 2019 artist residency at the Josef and Anni Albers Foundation and a 2019-2020 Research Fellowship from Duke University Department of Jewish Studies. She has been awarded residencies in Iceland, the Azores Archipelago and Santa Fe, New Mexico. Cohen received the 2008 WAP, the Museum of Contemporary Art of Georgia Working Artist Project, a Fulbright Hays Fellowship to Morocco and Tunisia in 2011, a 2012 American Academy in Rome Affiliated Fellowship. Marcia R. Cohen is a Professor Emerita from SCAD Atlanta and the Atlanta College of Art.

Megan Heeres's art practice and professional endeavors have connected into a cooperative way of working with community outside of the studio. These collaborations engage with place, people, art and plants. She participates in projects locally in Detroit and nationally, most recently at the Broad Art Lab at Michigan State University and the Herron School of Art at Indiana University. Megan has been an artist-in-residence at the Broad Art Lab at Michigan State University, the Hambidge Center for Creative Arts and Sciences, the Michele Schara Residency, the Ragdale Foundation, the Santa Fe Art Institute and Women's International Study Center. She received a Bachelor of Arts from Residential College at the University of Michigan in a self-designed program called "Health Studies and the Arts." Megan pursued training in fiber, book arts, and papermaking at the Oregon College of Art and Craft. Her Master's of Fine Art was completed at Cranbrook Academy of Art in the Fibers Department.

Marina Kassianidou

Kassianidou was born in Limassol, Cyprus, and currently lives and works between Limassol and Boulder, Colorado, USA. She has a B.A. in Studio Art from Stanford University, an M.A. in Fine Art from Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, London, UK, and a Ph.D. in Fine Art from Chelsea College of Arts, London, UK. She has exhibited her work internationally. She has been awarded fellowships at the Virginia Center for Creative Arts, Hambidge Center for Creative Arts and Sciences, Ragdale Foundation, Residencia Internacional de Arte Can Serrat, and The Studios at MASS MoCA (forthcoming), among others. She is a recipient of the 2016 Joan Mitchell Foundation Painters and Sculptors Grant. She is currently Assistant Professor in Art Practices at the University of Colorado Boulder.

Marryam Moma

Tanzanian-Nigerian Moma holds a bachelor's in architecture from the Tyler School of Art, Temple Univ. Moma melds the palette of repurposed hand-cut pieces, paper and media together into fresh, layered imagery with new associations. Deconstructing images, then re-integrating them to create something new, is an intuitive and ongoing visual experiment where color, texture, balance, shape and space come into play. Moma uses collage to explore the space where spirituality, gender, race and identity, and sexuality intersect. She celebrates the human form in her work and reinforces ideas about individuality and self-love. In August, Moma completed a public installation with the NBAF and installation in Macon for DASHBOARD, and exhibited with Dominique Gallery, at The Future Fair.

Dayna Thacker

Working primarily in cut paper, collage and installation, Thacker uses meticulous, meditative methods as she investigates thought systems we use to make sense of the world and ourselves, with a particular interest in the overlap of contemplative disciplines and scientific theory. A graduate of the UT, Knoxville, Thacker lived in Atlanta from 2006 to 2014, during which time she was a studio artist at Atlanta Contemporary and a finalist for Atlanta's Forward Arts Foundation Emerging Artist Award. She lived in Texas from 2014 to 2019, and as of mid-2019 has been living/working in Birmingham. Most recently, her work has been included in 'She Is Here' at the Atlanta Contemporary, and 'private nature' at the Swan Coach House Gallery.

Vanessa Brook Williams

Vanessa Brook Williams is an Atlanta-based artist whose delicate work ranges from small sculptures to room sized installations. She grew up in Decatur, GA in front of her father's lens and in the dust of her mother's ceramic studio. This happy childhood laid the groundwork for her creative pursuits as an adult. Over the years she has focused on the technical and conceptual development of her work through research in her studio with the support of community and educational institutions. She received her BFA from the School of Visual Arts in 2007, and completed a Post Baccalaureate at Burren College of Art in 2010. In 2013-2014 she was a recipient of Mint Gallery's emerging artist fellowship, Leap Year, and has been a fellow of the Hambidge Center since 2014. She was finalist for the Forward Arts Foundation's Emerging Artist Award in 2015-16 and 2017-18. She was a 2017-18 Hughley Fellow.
