About the Item

Anvil weighs 150 pounds and has a Rockwell hardness of 49. It was cast in H13 tool steel and heat treated to achieve correct hardness.

James Wade designed. Pattern built by Charles Logan. Anvil molded and cast by Charles Logan.

Length 28 inches. Width at top 4 inches. Width at base 10 inches. 11 inches tall. 1/2 inch pritchel and 1 1/2 hardy.

About the Artists

Charles Logan is a professional foundry man having worked in the foundry industry since 1973.

James Wade studied art at the University of Kentucky and the University of Georgia, earning a Master of Fine Arts degree in 1996. Wade's sculpture and drawings have been included in over 100 exhibitions across the United States, including a 2017 exhibition at the Metal Museum, as well as in England, Bolivia, and Italy. In addition to maintaining a studio on his family's land-grant farm in Lexington, Kentucky, he currently lectures and researches in the School of Art and Visual Studies at the University of Kentucky. Wade was the 2017 F.I.R.E. Conference Demonstrator.
