About the Artist
Talbot has always been interested in the arts and after raising one son, time was found for not only enjoying the arts but creating art. Classes at the National Ornamental Metal Museum in Memphis and the Memphis College of Arts led Talbot to the ancient art of enameling, the firing of glass to metal. Unique jewelry and art objects are handcrafted of copper, fine silver, and vitreous/glass enamel. Depending on the desired effect, items are torch-fired or kiln-fired multiple times to the high quality of glass fused to metal. Techniques and materials such as screen printing, stenciling, etching, decals, graphite, gold leaf, glass frit and beads, horse hair and other organic matters, are used to enhance the basic enameled objects.
