A Day With Sergeant Ed Soares and K9 Duke

Every week on Wednesdays, K9 Duke and I conduct narcotic detection training with Trident K9 industries in South San Francisco. During this training, we will run through numerous scenarios where narcotics are hidden in in different buildings, vehicles and containers, then Duke will have to locate all the different narcotic odors. During this training other K9's from surrounding agencies will also be on site conducting narcotic and bite training.

You will be able to ask questions and partake in the actual training process, where I will let you handle Duke as he works. Depending on your level of comfort, you will have the opportunity to put on a protective sleeve and take a bite from an apprehension K9 if you wish.

12:00PM - Lunch with Sgt. Soares & K9 Duke in Menlo Park

1:00PM - A tour of the Menlo Park Police Department, K9 Duke's Office, and K9 vehicle along with a Photo Op with K9 Duke.

2:00PM - Drive to South San Fransisco in the Official K9 Duke vehicle to Trident K9 industries.

3:00PM - Begin training with Trident K9 which can last over 2 hours.

5:30PMish - Drive back to Menlo Park and receive K9 Duke swag to commemorate the day.
