Team K9 Kylo
$2000
GOAL
Lieutenant Rich Castellon is K-9 handler with the Lee County Sheriff's Office. His K-9 partner Kylo is trained in narcotics detection. Lt. Castellon also supervises the Sheriff Carmine Marceno's Animal Cruelty Task Force.
Sheriff Carmine Marceno rescued and Deputized an abused dog by the name of Chance. Deputy Chance was adopted, trained and rehabilitated by Lt. Castellon.
Deputy Chance is the spokesdog for the agency and Lee Counties Goodwill Ambassador. He frequently visits hospitals and schools and helps promote the Sheriff's zero tolerance stance on animal abuse. Deputy Chance is also a finalist in the 2021 American Humane Hero Dog Award.
The overall success of the program has motivated the department to bring Sergeant Hope aboard. Sergeant Hope was a victim of neglect who lost her front right leg as a result. She too has teamed up with Deputy Chance to help educate our youth.
Being a veteran himself, Lt. Castellon and the pack are proud supporters of Operation Freedom Paws and their mission.
