Gary Carpenter M.D. a pediatric endocrinologist, is also an artist, sailor, musician and pilot. Like many young boys he papered his bedroom walls with drawings of airplanes. Bur for Dr. Carpenter, such pictures helped him through eight long years of enforced immobility as a patient with tibial tuberculous. He recovered fully and retained his avid interest in drawing and painting pictures of planes and ships. Even while serving four years on an aircraft carrier during the Korean war, he spent his spare time painting. In his later years, while on vacation near Ocean City New Jersey he loved to paint the areas he knew well and treasured such quiet moments. His watercolors capture the essence of the local shores and marshes with both strong opaque and delicate transparent areas of pigment. But eliminating distracting details, the visually simple, flat landscapes seem to extend beyond the edges of their small horizontal format.

Mole is a Mexican dish from Oaxaca and consists of a sauce over chicken. The sauce is made with many different sorts of chiles, spices, nuts, seeds, herbs, and chocolate and it covers the pieces of chicken. It is just a bit sweet and not very spicy.

Lily Corzo, a CASA volunteer, will prepare the mole at her home as it is a homemade dish, and it takes a couple of days to make it. She will deliver it within 20 miles from the CASA Office in Media, PA.

Winner would need to call her, and they would agree on a date when the mole for six people would be delivered with at least a week's notice.
