"Into the Food Chain"
Bid on this one-of-a-kind, hand carved wood sculpture by local artist Ken Yacavone of Cape Coral Florida.
After moving to Florida from Ohio, he has become well-known for his unique sculptures. For years, he cleaned up beaches in Florida and saw it as an opportunity to combine his artistic abilities with his concerns about the environment. This sculpture represents a belted kingfisher he saw in the wild with a deflated balloon in its beak.
Yacavone began showing his carvings in galleries in 2017 and has won awards for his work in Ohio and California and is collected here in SW Florida.
Bid on this Kingfisher sculpture and have a real conversation piece about wildlife and the challenges they face every day to survive. All proceeds from this purchase will help protect wildlife and enhance the conservation efforts at the J.N. "Ding" Darling National Wildlife Refuge, the jewel of Sanibel Island.
