GRAMMY Award-winning artists Sara Bareilles, Beck, Leon Bridges, Brandi Carlile, Lauren Daigle, Herbie Hancock, Chaka Khan, Angélique Kidjo, John Legend, Cyndi Lauper, Pentatonix, Billy Porter, Stephen Stills, and St. Vincent and GRAMMY Award nominees Jon Batiste, Black Pumas, Mickey Guyton, Yola and Allison Russell are set to perform at the 31st annual MusiCares Person of the Year benefit gala honoring Joni Mitchell on Fri, April 1, 2022. The evening will also feature a remote performance from GRAMMY Award-winning artist Graham Nash. Jon Batiste and Brandi Carlile, each nominated for multiple GRAMMY Awards this year, will also serve as Artistic Directors for the night, a first for Person of the Year.



TICKET  & EVENT ENTRY: To enter Person of the Year 2022, your name must be entered as an "Attendee" in our ticketing system. When you arrive at the MGM Grand's Marquee Ballroom in the MGM Grand Conference Center, please make your way to "Guest Check-In." Our staff will ask for your photo ID and Proof of Vaccination/Negative COVID-19 test in order to check you in. Once checked in, you will receive a lanyard and go through security to enter the event. There are no physical or digital tickets.

Tickets are non-transferable. Each guest must be entered as an "Attendee" in our ticketing system before entry by you or your reservation host.

At check in, guests will receive their table number. Guests will receive table assignments, but not seat assignments.

Once inside the hotel, please follow signs for "Conference Center"

Coming from inside the hotel: Follow signs for "Conference Center" and/or "Marquee Ballroom." It is about a 5-10 minute walk from the hotel lobby. 

Drop off: please enter "Marquee Ballroom" in Google maps. This will lead you to the intersection between Koval Lane and MGM Road with properly marked drop-off signs.

Guest list due date: March 11th, 2022. All Tables seat 12 guests. 

In order for meal requests to be honored, we must have your guest information by March 21st in order to guarantee that your guests will receive the meal they requested, though we will try our best to accommodate.

Please add your guests' information through our ticketing/auction platform, GiveSmart: 
1. Visit joni.givesmart.com and log in (If you are having trouble logging in, click "forgot username or password." If you bought or reserved a ticket, you do not need to register.)
2. Click the "PAY" Tab at the top of the page 
3. Click "View Order" 
4. Assign guests. Please include both mobile number and email address for each guest to ensure they receive their tickets and event information, as well as meal preference. 
5. Once you input a guest's information, they will receive an email to "accept invitation." After they do so, their attendance is secure and the only way to change is by contacting personoftheyear@musicares.org, so please ensure your guest is in fact able to attend. 



Our event site is joni.givesmart.com. Use this site to edit your information leading up to the event. On the day of the event, this will be your home base on your smartphone to access your table number, bidder number and more (this information will be updated on your user account on or before April 1st, 2022). To access:

2. Click the "MY INFO" tab. 

SILENT AUCTION (Mobile Bidding) 
All bidding will be done using personal smartphones, make sure your phone is charged. In order to participate, bidders must enter credit-card information with a U.S. or Canada-based billing address into their account. Please enter your credit card information in advance by visiting joni.givesmart.com, logging in, and clicking the "My Info" tab (If you are having trouble logging in, click "forgot username or password." An account was created for you if you bought or reserved a ticket/table, or if your name was added by your table host. Do not click "Register"). By entering your credit card information in advance, you will expedite the check-in process when you arrive at the event. 

If you are an international guest, MusiCares staff will be able to bid on your behalf.

We will offer a vegan and non-vegan meal option. The non-vegan dish is gluten free and will contain chicken and shrimp, and the vegan option will be gluten-free and soy-free. Please note your meal option on the "My Info" tab in your account. Person of the Year Dinner menu:

Upon arrival, be prepared to pass through a security checkpoint. Due to higher security measures, there will be no re-entry after you've checked in.  
At this time, proof of full vaccination (received primary series of COVID-19 vaccinations) will be required along with a government-issued photo ID to attend all Recording Academy and Affiliates events in Las Vegas.  Anyone who is exempt from COVID-19 vaccinations due to medical reasons or sincerely held religious beliefs must present a lab-administered negative COVID-19 PCR test taken within two days prior to the day of the event before entering.   Acceptable forms of proof of full vaccination include your physical vaccination card or photo of your physical vaccination card on your mobile device.  Acceptable forms of a negative COVID-19 PCR test taken within two days prior to the day of the event include printed test result or electronic test result displayed on your mobile device.  All forms of proof must clearly show the name of the attendee and will be matched to your government-issued ID before entering.  These requirements are subject to change.  
An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public space where people are present. By attending, you expressly agree to comply with any and all rules and safety guidelines put in place, and voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19, waiving all claims and potential claims against the event organizers, venue, and their affiliated companies relating to such risks. 
All guests must have a valid state issued photo ID that matches the name listed on your "MY INFO" tab to be allowed entry to the event. No exceptions will be made.

What if there is no ticket under my name? 
If someone invited you as their guest to the event, but you did not receive notification of a ticket or do not see a ticket under your name, contact the host/purchaser of your table/ticket group. They have been made aware they must enter your information in the ticketing system to ensure you can enter.

If you purchased tickets, you must also fill out "attendee" information for yourself, as well as all of your guests. Here's how.

Event entry is guaranteed if the attendee's name in our ticketing system matches their name on their Photo ID (Plus proof of vaccination OR negative COVID test). If experiencing entry issues, MusiCares will have a resolution area at the event. No refunds will be provided for unused tickets. 

To check if a ticket is under your name, log in to joni.givesmart.com and visit the "MY INFO" tab (click "forgot password" if you're having trouble and enter your mobile number). If you have a ticket, you will be able to log in and the information will be displayed on the "MY INFO" tab. Email personoftheyear@musicares.org for troubleshooting in advance of the event.

Can I buy a ticket at the event? 
Tickets are only available in advance and only until the event is sold out. Payment must be received by Friday, March 18, 2022. 
Is there a coat check? 
There is no coat check. 
Can I buy a ticket just for the auction or just for the concert? 
Tickets will not be available for single portions of the evening. 
What is the refund policy?  
MusiCares will respond to requests for refunds by March 18, 2022. After March 18th, MusiCares will consider refunds on a case-per-case basis with proof of a positive COVID-19 test. Proof of positive test must be sent electronically and must clearly show the name of the attendee.  
If you or one of your guests' test positive for COVID-19 after March 25, 2022, the seat can be re-assigned to another individual. Purchase of a table or ticket supports MusiCares mission to provide a safety net of services for our music community. Funds from your table or ticket purchase may be converted to a donation to support our mission. No refunds will be provided for unused tickets. 
Will I get to meet Joni Mitchell? 
The honoree will not be offering any meet and greet opportunities.
