A semi-abstract line drawing by Jerry Garcia. "Mandolin Player", a pen and ink piece drawn in the 1990's, shows a musician strumming the strings of his mandolin.

Jerry Garcia - artist and founding member of the Grateful Dead - was also an industrious and introspective visual artist whose drive to express himself went well beyond playing concerts and making recordings. Garcia created nearly 500 pieces of art between 1985 and 1995 using watercolor, gouache, pencil, ink, airbrush and digital media.
