THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT OF LOCAL VETERANS!

Providing Interim Housing & Hope for Our Veterans!

The Mission of the PTSD Foundation of America (ptsdusa.org) is to bring hope and healing to Combat Veterans and their families suffering from the effects of combat-related Post Traumatic Stress (PTSD).  The San Antonio Chapter of the PTSD Foundation of America will be this year's beneficiary.  The San Antonio Chapter provides much needed counseling and support throughout Central Texas, serving hundreds of local Veterans and their families every year.

The PTSD crisis continues to increase.  After combat Veterans return home, it can take years for the symptoms of the invisible wounds of war to surface and the debilitated effects of PTSD to overwhelm them.  Join us in helping Veterans and their families!

ALARMING VETERAN FACTS - Why we do this:

  • Each night, 62,000+ Veterans have no home and must fend for themselves on the streets.
  • 20+ Veterans commit suicide every day.  Veteran suicides are 2-3 times that of civilians.
  • Suicide-related Veteran deaths from PTSD surpass combat-related deaths.
  • 25% of 9/11 Veterans battle PTSD, with just as many Veterans are never diagnosed.
  • Over 400,000 9/11 Veterans have sought treatment for mental illness and PTSD.
  • Veterans most at risk for PTSD include those with combat exposure, multiple deployments, and/or traumatic brain injury.
  • Numbers are higher than shown because the data only includes Veterans that report to VA.
  • Sadly, many Veterans with PTSD, never report to VA.
