World-renowned wineries use their very best grapes to produce the wines that carry their flagship label, whether it is Lafite Rothschild, Latour, or the best of the California cult wines. But what do they do with the other grapes from the estate-grapes that are still excellent? Rather than selling these grapes, many of these wineries produce a "second label." This lot includes eight bottles from three of the best from Napa: three bottles of 2006 The Maiden, Harlan Estates' second label (rated 91 points); two bottles of 2010 Monsieur Etain, second label from Scarecrow (rated 94 points); and the bottles of the 2007 "The Matriarch," another wine from Bill Harlan's project Bond (rated 91 points).
