Unlike normal years our Olympians have a VERY short timeline to be onsite in Tokyo before their competition. In an effort to get them acclimated to the heat and to lessen the time change before they race the US Team will be training for a week in Hawaii prior to arrival in Tokyo.

While this sounds like a vacation - we all know it won't be one! Our Team will be in the final stages of preparation and will be absolutely dialed into the details of their final plans. This training camp is a significant added expense for USRowing. But after 5 years of investment - now is not the time to take chances with our athlete's readiness!

We need 10 donors to step forward with a gift of $3,000 to cover the cost of bringing 10 boats for training at this camp to Hawaii. Boats have to be leased and loaded onto a trailer and brought by ship to the training site at a cost of $3,000 each. Athletes must train in the same equipment they will race in at the Games to prevent injury and ensure quality practices. Help us get these boats to our Team!

Training camp in Hawaii sure sounds exciting - while excitement will be in the air as our Athletes prepare for the most important races of their lives - one thing is for sure Hawaii is expensive! After extensive research this is the best place for this camp and our athletes will be well taken care of.

With over 58 athletes and staff traveling to Hawaii the cost for travel, food and lodging averages about $2,000 per person for the week. With a gift of $2,000 you can sponsor one athlete at this Pre-Olympic Training Camp - no limits on number of gifts needed for this one!
