"America The Beautiful" 5 Ounce Silver Uncirculated Coin

This Arches 5 oz. Silver America the Beautiful .999 fine silver coin is the 3rd of five coins in the America the Beautiful Silver Bullion Coin Program released by the U.S. Mint in 2014, and the 23rd overall. Arches National Park, located in eastern Utah, is best known for the Delicate Arch, arguably the most famous arch in the world. Delicate Arch is what is featured on this coin.

The 5 oz. silver America The Beautiful Coin resembles a Washington quarter but is significantly larger (76.20 millimeter diameter) and contains 99.9% silver at a weight of 155.5 grams. It depicts Arches National Park on the reverse and John Flanagan's 1932 portrait of George Washington on the obverse. Inscriptions on the obverse are UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, and QUARTER DOLLAR. The edges of this 5 oz. silver bullion coin are smooth and contain the incused inscription: .999 FINE SILVER 5.0 OUNCE.

Numismatists use the term burnished to describe the coins' unique finish. Burnished coins appear matte and less shiny when compared to a standard bullion coin. The U.S. Mint identifies burnished coins simply as uncirculated coins. In recent years, the U.S. Mint has expanded burnishing to some limited-quantity designs, including the popular America the Beautiful series.
