Description: These replicas of Josef Albers' "Homage to the Square" series were created especially for MCFTA. Albers began his "Homage to the Square" series around the time he joined the Yale faculty in 1950. He used the series to explore the effects of adjacent colors on one another; a sense of space results when some squares appear to be receding while others appear to advance toward the viewer, leading the eye in and out of the flat, geometric composition.
