1.5 Liter Long Shadows 2017 Chester-Kidder
93 points from Wine Enthusiast
"Aromas of black fruit, anise, vanilla, cocoa and other barrel spices are followed by pitch-black, rich, hedonistic fruit flavors that bring the acidity and tannin structure of the vintage. It's intense but with plenty of sophistication." - Wine Enthusiast.
1.5 Liter 2017 Long Shadows Sequel Syrah
94 points from James Suckling
"Aromas of blackberries, blueberries and violet with cloves and black pepper. Spiced chocolate. Full body, chewy tannins and a long, flavorful finish. A big wine, but I love the form, structure and intensity." - James Suckling
90 points from Wine Advocate
Fragrant aromas of ripe black cherry, plum compote, black currant and herbal spice introduce the lush red and black cherry, raspberry, and black plum flavors of this remarkably sumptuous merlot. Mouth-filling and deeply concentrated on the palate, it is perfectly balanced by bright acidity and supple, fine-grained tannins, culminating in a long, spicy, cherry-laced finish. Enjoy this delicious merlot now or age it another 5-7 years to fully savor its developing complexity.
Blend: 94% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Sauvignon
94 points from Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
"The 2015 Chianti Classico Riserva Rancia is a tremendous wine with an impactful yet very elegant bouquet. The central theme here is darkness and richness, and you get both of those things to the extent that Sangiovese can offer. The magic here is that Sangiovese sticks stubbornly to its inner grace and elegance, especially in a classic vintage such as this. Gravel alberese soils add to the wine's overall sharpness and detailed focus. There is a touch of sweet cherry confit ripeness on the close. Some 40,000 bottles were made." - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
L'Arco Amarone Della Valpolicella 2015
Luca Fedrigo experiments with the traditional Valpolicella blend by adding Bordeaux varieties to the mix. He is a one-man operation, minimal interventionist and practices organic farming. Only 400 cases are produced of this coveted wine.
Amarone is one of the most prestigious red wines of Italy. The Amarone style was developed as Valpolicella's wine producers were looking for a way to increase the body, complexity and alcohol of their wines, as the local varieties were aways considered a bit 'weak'; the solution was the 'appassimento', naturally air drying.
This Amarone comes from the best grapes, carefully selected and then placed in 'cassette' to dry naturally for about 120 days. After the 'appassimento' the grapes are pressed, fermented and aged in medium to large format barrels; not all the barrels will make it through the long ageing as only the best will be Amarone. An extraordinary wine, tied to Valpolicella's traditions, traditionally off-dry, beautiful with age. Decanting this wine is recommended.
94 points from Wine Enthusiast
"Fruit from Champoux Vineyard makes up 47% of this wine, with 46% coming from Discovery and a dash from Klipsun on Red Mountain. The aromas are vibrant, with notes of roasted coffee bean, dark raspberry, scorched earth, barrel spice, leaf and black currant, showing plenty of complexity and nuance. The flavors bring a sense of elegance, detail and depth, along with a creamy feel. Sneaky firm tannins back it up. A long list of superlatives could describe it. Just a baby now, it requires time in the cellar to grow up. But what a future it promises. Best from 2027-2037." - Sean P. Sullivan
93 points from Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
"The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon is made up of 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Merlot, 3% Petit Verdot, 2% Malbec and 2% Cabernet Franc, aged for 18 months in 48% new French and American oak, and bottled in May/June of 2018. Deep garnet-purple colored, it sings of crushed blackcurrants, blackberry pie and blueberry compote with suggestions of cigar box, menthol, rose hip tea and baking spices. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is packed with vibrant black fruit laced with plenty of spicy sparks, framed by grainy tannins and oodles of freshness and finishing long with a menthol kick." - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Joseph Drouhin Chambolle-Musigny 2018
90 points from Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
"The 2018 Chambolle-Musigny Village is showing very well from bottle, opening in the glass with aromas of raspberries and cherries mingled with hints of raw cocoa, forest floor and woodsmoke. Medium to full-bodied, rich and fleshy, with powdery structuring tannins, succulent acids and an enveloping core of fruit, it has turned out very nicely." - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
100% Texas Tempranillo, coming from the TX High Plains in Lubbock, TX at about 3,500 feet of elevation. This Tempranillo was made with 25% whole cluster and stem inclusion, then aged in 35% new French oak barrels for 18 months.
92 points from Wine Spectator
"A bold, forward style, with plush, lightly mulled plum, boysenberry and açaí berry flavors pumping along, backed by light apple and anise accents that add detail through the finish. Big, but has the energy for balance. Best from 2021 through 2028." - Wine Spectator
Roserock by Drouhin Oregon Zephirine Pinot Noir 2017
96 points from James Suckling
"This has a very impressive sense of density and power with such immaculate detail and definition, in terms of tannin and fruit. The aromas are in the spicy and floral zone with blue-fruit and leafy nuances. Deceptively elegant and convincingly excellent pinot noir." - James Suckling
92 points from Wine Enthusiast
"Cabernet Franc (82%) makes up the lion's share of this wine, with the rest Merlot (12%) and Petit Verdot. It's tight as a drum out of the gate. Brooding aromas of black and red currant, scorched earth, flower and herb are followed by focused, fresh, lively fruit flavors supported by highly structured tannins. As is typically the case with this producer, it's much more about the future than the present, with a lot of aging potential in front of it. Best after 2026 with a very long life beyond that." - Sean P. Sullivan
Columbia Valley, Washington - Opening with rich aromas of black currant, blueberry and black cherry, notes of mocha, toasted bread and violets follow. Concentrated with black fruit flavors and French oak nuances, this complex blend finishes quite smooth.
93 points from Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
"The 2016 Ciel du Cheval Vineyard, a blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc, begins with a red-fruited nose with dusty core of mineral-rich earth and red, floral bouquet wafts. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, the wine expresses flavors of black plum and dusty, dark cherry, showing a clean and spicy wine with a tannic core that is still grippy. The wine will age well or can be enjoyed now with its food-friendly expression at its current stage." - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
2017 Hamilton Russell Pinot Noir
92 points from Wine Enthusiast
"Pronounced aromas of mentholated herbs and fynbos dance on the nose of this excellent wine, with supporting tones of forest floor, tilled soil, red currant and cherry. Medium in weight and plush in feel, it offers framing tannins that lend a solid grip to the palate and finish, while a kiss of warming spice graces the close. Well balanced and structured, it's attractive now, but will mature well through 2029." - Wine Enthusiast
91 points from Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
"A blend of 64% Syrah, 14% Grenache, 11% Cinsault, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 1% Viognier, the 2017 Chocolate Block is dense, rich and fully complex. The nose is filled with red and black fruits and black spices, with well-integrated oak tones of vanilla and nutmeg. There is an underlying minerality about the wine as well. On the palate, the wine is bold and chewy with a tight mineral and tannic grip. The mid-palate is loaded with blackberries, black pepper, dark chocolate and dusty plum. The finish is long and delivers a focused expression of a serious wine and will need time to age, or you will have to enjoy it with a hearty meal to tame the tannins. The full-bodied wine ends with a long finish." - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
92 points from Jeb Dunnuck
"Checking in as 72% Zinfandel, 18% Petite Sirah, 8% Carignan, and the rest Mourvèdre, the 2018 Lytton Springs has a more nuanced, complex style that builds nicely with time in the glass. Red plums, mulberries, flowery incense, cedar, and a kiss of chocolate all define the bouquet, and this beauty hits the palate with medium to full-bodied richness, a seamless, elegant texture (which is the hallmark of this vintage), and ample chalky minerality on the finish. It's going to benefit from a year or three of bottle age and shine for over a decade. I've had this cuvée with 20+ years of bottle age and it ages surprisingly well." - Jeb Dunnuck
Deep dark red in color with a purple core, this wine offers lifted notes of red jellies, blueberry, lavender and gentle accents of pepper with an intriguing overlay of Morrocan Spice Temple. Angels' Share is medium- to full-bodied in nature, gleaming with bright primary fruits of red berry and blueberry. The acid is bright and frames the fruit nicely, giving good share and vibrancy to the palate. Floral accents of lavender and freshly cut flowers give good palate complexity. Tannins are chalky in nature and provide great texture to frame the wine. The palate is very buoyant with great length and persistence in flavor.
La Carrodilla is a new generation winery in the Ejido El Porvenir in the Valle de Guadalupe in Mexico. It arose as a dream of the Pérez Castro Family (owners of La Lomita) to honor the Virgen de los Vinedos.
With more than 20 years of experience in the art of making wine; Gustavo González is one of the most renowned winemakers in the American Union.
92 points from James Suckling
"Aromas of flowers and jam with dark fruit. Medium to full body, a solid core of ripe fruit and flavors of spices and berries. Delicious finish. A flamboyant young wine. Drink or hold." - James Suckling
Failla Pinot Noir Willamette Valley 2018
93 points from Wine Enthusiast
"You'll have to search far and wide to find a Willamette Valley Pinot this good at this price. Winemaker Ehren Jordan is a proven Pinot master, and works his magic here, using fruit from top Chehalem Mountain and Eola-Amity sites. This offers a well-integrated mix of fruit and barrel flavors, blackberries, black cherry, mocha and coffee. The ripe and focused tannins add notes of espresso and toasted hazelnuts; the wine is a sheer joy to drink." - Wine Enthusiast
89 points from Virginie Boone
"Lively acidity helps balance a wealth of concentrated red and blackberry fruit in this thickly tannic wine with sizable body weight and breath." - Virginie Boone
Planted to own-rooted Pommard and Wädensvil vines, this quaffable-yet-serious wine encompasses everything that people love about well-made Oregon Pinot Noir: it's savory, it's smoky, and it's undeniably nuanced.
Cameron Winery is dedicated to producing high-quality, hand-crafted and sustainably-farmed libations for the people. They are a small family operation producing 3,000 to 4,000 cases annually.
96 points from Jeb Dunnuck
"The 2016 Syrah La Cote Rousse is built around clone 99, all from Red Mountain, that saw 45% whole clusters in the fermentation. This cuvee, which is also moving more and more toward Ciel du Cheval, is 88% from this terrific site. It's another inky purple colored red with a beautiful bouquet of black raspberries, toasted spice, dried herbs, and mineral aromas and flavors. Still tight, backward and reserved, yet with beautiful potential, this full-bodied, ripe, layered Syrah needs 2-3 years of bottle age and will keep for 15+ years." - Jeb Dunnuck

"The Southern Rhône blend of the estate, the 2017 Besoleil is always bottled relatively early. A blend of 49% Grenache, 34% Mourvèdre, and the rest Counoise and Syrah that's mostly from the Yakima Valley, it was fermented with 20% stems and brought up all in barrel. It's a medium to full-bodied, layered, downright pretty Rhône blend that has complex notes of red fruits, white pepper, herbes de Provence, tapenade, and some meaty notes. It's perfectly balanced and loaded with character." - Jeb Dunnuck
94 points from Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
"The 2018 Sauvignon Blanc bursts from the glass with notes of lemon tart, key lime pie and orange blossoms with nuances of acacia honey, baking bread, fresh grapefruit and crushed stones. Medium-bodied, the palate has fantastically intense citrus and mineral notes, framed by great freshness and a silken texture, finishing very long and perfumed." - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The àMaurice estate vineyard lies at an elevation of 1475 ft. on a gentle southwest-facing slope in the valley of Mill Creek. The vines are planted in the Walla Walla silt loam, a deep, well-drained soil derived from sediments deposited by catastrophic ice age floods that repeatedly inundated the Columbia basin between 12 and 15 thousand years ago.
Albert Bichot Chablis Grand Cru Les Clos 2016
92 points from Wine Spectator
"Les Clos" is in terms of surface area the biggest of the Chablis Grand Cru vineyards. It has a south-east exposure (setting sun). Domaine Albert Bichot is privileged to own two vineyards here, with a total of almost four acres, which allows them to blend grapes with two very different yet complementary profiles.
The first vineyard is located at mid-slope and benefits from slightly higher temperatures than the second, which is located at the top of the slope, protected from the north winds by the nearby forest. The two plots once again reveal that Burgundy is the kingdom of "terroirs." The first plot at mid-slope generally provides deeper, richer, fleshier wines whereas the second plot produces wines with greater acidity and tension. It is the blending of the two that lends the "Les Clos" all of its complexity.
The differences between our two plots can be detected throughout the tasting experience. The nose skillfully combines floral notes from the higher of the two plots with almond and hazelnut notes from the mid-slope vineyard. The palate is full-bodied and structured with pleasing acidity that is not overpowering.
Clos des Lunes Lune d'Argent Bordeaux Blanc 2018
93 from Wine Spectator
"This is tightly coiled now, but the range of juicy tangerine, white peach and white ginger notes should unfurl soon enough, carried by a mouthwatering quinine note and ending with a light orange blossom hint on the finish. Sémillon and Sauvignon Blanc. Drink now through 2026." - Wine Spectator
92 points from Vinous
"Translucent straw-yellow. Highly perfumed citrus and orchard fruit scents show fine definition and complementary suggestions of ginger, honey and smoke. Fleshy but lively and focused on the palate, offering juicy Anjou pear, tangerine, melon and honeysuckle flavors that tighten up through the midpalate. Finishes very long and silky, repeating the pear and floral notes." - Vinous
Au Bon Climat "Nuits-Blanches au Bouge" Santa Maria Valley Chardonnay 2016
95 points from Jeb Dunnuck
"As to the 2016 Chardonnay Nuits-Blanches Au Bouge, it's all Chardonnay that was barrel fermented and aged 20 months in new Francois Freres barrels. This brilliant Chardonnay has fabulous notes of crushed citrus, sauteed orchard fruits, brioche, honeysuckle, and white flowers. Beautifully rich, medium-bodied, vibrant, and pure, it has integrated acidity and a great finish. Reminding me of a great White Burgundy, it should evolve nicely for upwards of two decades. Maturity 2019 - 2039." - Jeb Dunnuck
92 points from James Suckling
"Light and bright, poached cherries and berries lead to a smooth array of finely spiced cherry flavors and a smoothly delivered, plush and smooth palate." - James Suckling
Chapelle de Blagny Meursault-Blagny Premier Cru 2016
89 points from Roger Voss
"This is a blend from a number of parcels previously owned by monks (who understood the location of good vineyards) in the hamlet of Blagny situated just back from the main Meursault vineyards. The wine is rich with a subtle hint of toastiness and honey along with minerality and bright green and white stone fruits." - Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast
A pinnacle Oregon Chardonnay, the 2014 Evening Land Seven Springs Vineyard Summum hails from a single block at the heart of the Seven Springs vineyard where the soil is thin and a stony basalt outcropping can be seen. The vines, all Dijon clones, were planted in 1984, and are naturally low yielding. Summum is stunningly pure, precise, and texturally elegant. A silken ribbon wrapped around a core of yellow apples and d'Anjou pear. Mandarin orange, lemon curd, pencil lead, followed by trace minerality-it's very Burgundian.
94 points from Matt Kettmann
"Clean, delicate and yet full aromas of lemon cream, toast, peach blossom and chalk show on the lovely nose of this bottling from a vineyard that sits above Highway 101 in Prunedale. The chalky texture takes hold immediately on the palate, with flavors of white peach and seared nectarine that are chiseled by acidity and finish on an intriguing chive note." - Matt Kettmann, Wine Enthusiast
93 points from Wine Spectator
"This offers a vibrant, mouthwatering mix of lime peel, peach and pineapple flavors on a sleek and juicy frame, with hints of spearmint, matcha green tea and fresh ginger that linger on the long, lingering finish. Drink now through 2022." - Wine Spectator
Betz Heart of the Hill Cabernet Sauvignon 2016
93 points from Sean P. Sullivan
"Luxurious aromas of barrel spice, char, roasted coffee bean, black cherry, earth, cocoa, graphite, coffee and herb lead to elegant but textured, layered, tart, lip-smacking fruit flavors. The palate is all pleasantly dialed back considering the warmth of the vintage and region, with an exquisite acidity and tannin balance. In cooler days, Washington Cabernets sat squarely between California and Bordeaux. This throwback wine does just that." - Sean P. Sullivan
96 points from Jeb Dunnuck
"I loved the base 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon. This will stand up to any Bordeaux blend coming out of Washington today. A blend of 81% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% merlot, and the rest Cabernet Franc, Malbec, and Petit Verdot, it offers a medium to full-bodied, incredibly seamless, balanced style carrying lots of cassis and darker currant fruit as well as notes of tobacco, bouquet garni, graphite, and scorched earth. It closes down relatively quickly with air and is a serious, structured, yet incredibly promising Cabernet. Hide bottles for 5-6 years and enjoy over the following two decades." -Jeb Dunnuck
91 points from Jeb Dunnuck
"The 2018 Chaleur Estate is 61% Cabernet Sauvignon, 27% Merlot, and 10% Cabernet Franc and the rest Petit Verdot that was brought up in French oak. Blackcurrants, lavender, violets, and hints of orange peel all give way to a plump, rounded, medium-bodied effort that has silky tannins and already upfront charm." - Jeb Dunnuck

2016 Art Den Hoed Viognier
91 points from Jeb Dunnuck
"Pale yellow in color, the 2016 Viognier Art Den Hoed Vineyard is brought up in concrete and doesn't go through malolactic fermentation before spending just 4 months in barrel. The ideal is freshness and purity with this cuvée. Buttered citrus, honeysuckle, pineapple, and a kiss of saltiness all emerge from this rich, ripe, textured Viognier that has wonderful purity." - Jeb Dunnuck
There are five bottles of the 2013 Primus Cabernet Sauvignon in this wine package.
90 points from Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
"The 2013 Primus Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced from 30-year-old vines in Puente Alto in Maipo, the classical zone for Cabernet Sauvignon in Chile. This is the only wine they produce from purchased grapes, in this case from a producer called Mariscal who has 30-year-old vines on the alluvial terrace of the Maipo River. This is fermented in open-top tanks with indigenous yeasts. They want softer and more drinkable wines in the Primus series than what the line used to be in the past. This has all the classical descriptors of Maipo Cabernet, but in a subtle way, none of the aromas sing in a higher voice and there is good balance and harmony. The palate is medium-bodied, with very good balance, drinkable and approachable." - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Enjoy a half case of six bottles of this 2016 Long County Sauvignon Blanc.
Chile is known for making some of the most popular Sauvignon Blanc in the world. The wines are light, refreshing, citrusy, and enjoyable. Chile is over 4,300 km long - a flight from Edinburgh to Baghdad or San Francisco to New York - but its width never exceeds 240 km so no other country can be best described by the words "Long County." This Sauvignon Blanc is picked in Chile's central valley and has a lovely mix of floral and citric fruit aromas and flavors. It is refreshing and well balanced and would be best served as an aperitif or with seafood or fish dishes.

"Always one of the lighter colored wines in the lineup, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Harrison Hill has a classic bouquet of redcurrants, green tobacco, spring flowers, and flowery incense. This carries to a medium-bodied, elegant, balanced barrel sample that has no hard edges, ripe tannins, and fabulous length on the finish. I always love this wine, and the 2018 is certainly another beautiful effort." - Jeb Dunnuck
