What is L'Arche?

L'Arche ("the ark" in French) Atlanta is part of an international federation of 154 communities that focuses on the gifts of people with developmental disabilities. We celebrate every person's unique value and recognize our need for one another in a diverse, inclusive society.

L'Arche Atlanta has three central activities to fulfill our mission to transform lives by building community among people with and without disabilities:

  • Creates homes where people with disabilities (referred to as core-members) have a place to belong and a circle of support to assist them in daily life.
  • Hosts social activities, such as open mic events and holiday parties, for over 500 metro Atlantans with disabilities and their families, friends, and supporters.
  • Advocates for disability rights and promotes an inclusive vision of society.
