David Biedrzycki is an award-winning illustrator and writer of children's books. His book, Ace Lacewing: Bug Detective, was named one of the Bank Street College of Education's Best Books of the Year. In addition to writing and illustrating full time, David visits schools all over the United States, and countries in Europe, Asia, and Africa. "I get valuable feedback by showing students my process and in the end I understand my story and the process even better. It's a symbiotic relationship, I'm so honored and appreciative to have. I also get to meet teachers and librarians from all over the world. They are my heroes and the conduits of my books."

The SMASH Arts & Letters Sale is a semi-annual art and community event featuring original postcard-sized artwork created and donated by established and emerging artists. Due to the pandemic, the 2020 event was postponed, postponed, and then cancelled.
