1. Vina Pomal Bodegas BilbaĆnas Cosecha 1964 Haro-Rioja Reserva Especial ($332)

Bodegas Bilbainas is one of the classic, centenarian bodegas in Rioja. This is a wine that rarely fails to impress. Typically it shows purple and black-skinned fruits, a marked floral quality and loads of fresh acidity which allow for excellent aging potential. Their wines are a rare treat to be sure! (Joe Manekin, K&L Spanish wine buyer)

2 & 3. 1973 Bodegas Berberana Reserva Rioja ($55 each)

Mixed berry aromas are intensely fragrant. Scents of dark chocolate, fig confiture, dried orange peel, maybe even a hint of cinnamon. On the palate, wine is fresh, with delicious fruit and such effortless elegance. At almost 50 years old, this wine is well into its peak drinking window but it does not show any sign of retiring anytime soon. The bottles were part of a collection from a Spanish source the donor has purchased older Riojas from in the past. (Joe Manekin, former K&L Spanish wine buyer)
