Hawthorne Police Ride Along

Join the Hawthorne Police for a day as an official passenger in a patrol vehicle. You'll accompany a police officer during part of a normal tour of duty and see firsthand law enforcement at work in the community.

Valid for 1 Patrol Shift Ride-Along for 1 Person. Ride-Along passenger must be 18 years or older.

"Ride-Along" means to be an official passenger in a patrol vehicle, accompanying a police officer during part of normal tour of duty. The primary purpose of a police Ride-Along is to provide an opportunity for the community to see firsthand the day-to-day working of a law enforcement in Hawthorne. The Ride-Along guest receives important insight into what it means to be a police officer. The Ride-Along program fosters a better understanding of the challenges, hazards and rewards of the police officer's role in the community.

Citizen participation in this law enforcement opportunity is subject to departmental approval of date and duration, as well as candidate qualification.
