This is your opportunity to offer a fine & performing arts student a scholarship for a year.

The named scholarship can have your name on it, or it might be named for a friend or family member.

As a scholarship donor, you will be invited to the College of Liberal Arts Donor Reception this fall where you will have the chance to enjoy dinner with your student recipient. If you are unable to make the reception, you will receive a picture of and bio about your student recipient and the opportunity to meet them at a later date.

A chance for two to meet Music faculty for cocktails and hors d'oeuvres before a Fall 2023 or Spring 2024 performance of the your choosing. These choices could range from a menu of Orchestral, Pep Band, Jazz Band, or concert Band concerts.

Participants will have a chance to talk with ArtsGala scholarship recipients performing at that event, and receive an in-depth tour of the secrets of Schuster Hall. Additionally, one participant will have the honor of conducting the Orchestra or Band on a pre-planned performance piece.

Up to six guests will join members of the Theatre program faculty for cocktails and hors d'oeuvres before a performance of the Fall musical in November. This piece, Untitled, 2016 is a relief cast in plaster by WSU Professor of Art, Stefan Chinov. It is an abstract wall piece with references to the Constructivist and Minimalist sculpture movements of the early and mid-20th century. The piece was first cast in a rubber mold taken from a clay original. It was altered, sanded, polished, and finished with casein, a milk based emulsion traditionally used since ancient times, which penetrates and seals the surface (casein is what gives it a distinctive off-white tone).

As in constructivists and minimalist works, the piece's form is an integral part of its meaning. Its physical characteristics and its actual presence are the qualities that determine not only its formal identity, but also its value.

Our Acting, Dance, and Musical Theatre Students are provided smooth-soled character shoes for various performances that allow them to dance/move easily on the stage; however, these shoes are not fit for all performances.

When rubber soles are safer and more appropriate for a production, it costs $30 to have their shoes cobbled (far less expensive than buying an entirely new pair of shoes!).

One of the biggest stumbling blocks in costuming our performers in Theatre is the cost of safe dance shoes. Buying the less-expensive shoes is a preference for students on a budget, but this can lead to injury, as the shoes are not as flexible and often are more narrow and tight-fitting. They also tend to only last through one season/semester, which is counter-productive.

With your help, we can provide long-lasting support with a pair of LaDuca dance shoes that will shod a student for all four years of their productions with us!

With this purchase, you will be given a thank-you letter from your student with a picture of them in the shoes you've provided! They will definitely not forget you as they perform and head off to stellar futures!
