ARTIST- DARREL WALKER

Watercolor on Arches paper, a piece inspired by the elderly who are incarcerated in the US today. Professionally framed, matted and glassed

Darrel Walker is a self-taught artist who, at the age of fifty, learned and perfected his craft during the 20 years he spent in Colorado Department of Corrections. During this time, Mr. Walker developed a passion not only for his art, but for Veterans issues as well. As a founding member of the first Veteran Unit in Colorado DOC Darrel became aware of the many problems and issues facing our Veterans and continued his Veteran work through Mt. Carmel Veteran Center upon his release. Darrel is a Vietnam combat Army Veteran himself and is committed to helping Veterans through his art sales and Veteran fundraisers such as this Veteran Benefit. Darrel has been awarded by the WAOA for his watercolors and is on the Pennsylvania State Register as a State Historical Artist for his watercolors of Warren, PA
