Synergy Dance Academy Presents the ACHIEVE Benefit Show
February 20, 2021 12:45 - 4:00 pm
Synergy Dance Academy is proud to present their fourth annual Benefit Show "Achieve." Our dancers take immense pride and joy in providing an artistic experience that allows them to give back to their community in an impactful way.
Each year, we select an individual or family who has inspired us with their tenacity, hope, and love. We are honored to invite the Prices into the Synergy Family for our event. See below for information about this amazing and resilient family!
While this year might look a little different, we have been rehearsing diligently and are thrilled to offer our audience a "virtual" viewing experience from the comfort of your own home! So sit back, relax, and enjoy the show as you watch your dancer shine. And don't forget to check out the silent auction items from generous donors during intermissions!
Show Time, Saturday February 20th:

This year's beneficiary family and nonprofit organization:
Emma & Christopher lost their parents at a very young age (read their full story below). With the love and support of their grandparents, they have become amazingly giving, resilient and incredible contributors to their community. Angels of America's Fallen helps support children who have lost their loved one, their hero who gave their all for their community or country, by providing them access, opportunity and support to pursue their dreams in sports, leadership and the arts.
Your donations today will help support Chris & Emma's ongoing pursuit of their dreams, that without Angels of America's Fallen, their grandparents could not afford. Any additional funds raised from this event will support other Angels right here in Colorado Springs! Because of YOU, they CAN!

This year's beneficiary family and nonprofit organization:
Meet the Prices: Christopher & Emma, the epitome of resiliency. How YOU can help.
When Christopher was just 4 years old and his sister Emma was 18 months old, their father succumbed to his military related PTS and committed suicide while also killing their mother. Sadly, the children were there, and Christopher, just four years old, was hugging his mother's legs when she died. When EMS arrived, they found little Christopher and Emma in a closet...after Christopher scooped up his baby sister and hid them there. A couple of hours later, their grandparents, Kathie and Bob, took the children home with them to begin a journey of healing.
Fast forward, Chris is now a Senior in High School, a star player and leader on his football team, has progressed through the ranks in karate and aspires to serving his country. Chris shares, "One thing karate taught me is how to stay cool in bad situations. Without Angels supporting me in karate, I don't think I'd be at the point I am now in my life--like everything's going well. I'm having a great life. Angels are really engaging, and I can tell they love our family and we love them."
Emma, now a Sophomore in High School, became a nationally ranked hula dancer, and during COVID dedicated time to teaching hula virtually to other Angels in the program. "I was drawn to hula at a young age for the beauty of it and for a way that you can express emotion through dance." Recently, Emma started an Angel 2 Angels blog space, where Angels all over the country can chat about their journey through grief. "I love my friends in high school, but no one around me has experienced what I have. I want to connect with the other Angels and give them support when they need it."
Grandma Kathie and Grandpa Bob committed to giving their grandchildren a future that is honoring of their parent's memory. Kathie, a cancer survivor, never envisioned having children in the house again and had limited resources and yet, Kathie is one of Angel's most active volunteers for the program. Many widows point to having spoken to Kathie as a Peer Mentor as being THE moment that they realized that they, too, have PTS from the loss of their spouse.
Your donations today will help support Chris & Emma's ongoing pursuit of their dreams, that without Angels of America's Fallen, their grandparents could not afford. Any additional funds raised from this event will support other Angels right here in Colorado Springs! Because of YOU, they CAN!
