As the former host of The Tonight Show, Jay Leno is known as an affable interviewer and an expert at observational humor. He made his first appearance on The Tonight Show in 1977, and formally began full-time hosting duties in 1992 after Johnny Carson left the show. In addition to his television work, Leno earned a reputation as one of the hardest workers in stand-up comedy by routinely booking 300-show tours.
