Julie Barber, Senior Vice President of Health and Wellness Merchandising for Walmart Stores Inc., graduated from the University of Arkansas with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and a Minor in Communication.
She has been with the company for over 15 years, getting her start as an analyst in Walmart Services and working her way up to Senior Manager. Over the course of 4 years, she grew the business from $114M to $207M. During this time, Julie was also given the Business Growth Award and Above and Beyond Award. In 2012, she took on the role of Senior Buyer for Fresh and Frozen Poultry and in 2013 she was the Buyer of the Year for Food. Julie was then promoted to Merchandise Manager of Pork and Poultry.
In 2015 she was promoted to Vice President of Snacks Merchandising including responsibility for chips, cookies, snack nuts, and other great snacks. In that position she led large growth of healthy snacks for the Walmart customer and helped ensure customers had the best snacks for themselves and their children. In April of 2019 Julie moved over as the Vice President of the Health & Wellness leading the stores business and was promoted to Senior Vice President of Health and Wellness leading both the stores and dotcom business in August of 2020. Julie has a high aptitude for thought leadership, marketing, merchandising and strategic planning.
She is highly involved with the community, having served as chair of the Sunshine School Gala for three years in a row, and she and her team members commit to quarterly volunteer events for various non-profit organizations across Northwest Arkansas.
She is also on the board of the Friendship Foundation. Julie enjoys spending time with her family including her husband Keith and three children Coleman (11), Olivia (6) and Will (6). When she has a spare moment, she loves to run.
