I joined the American Red Cross of Eastern New York five-years ago and serve as the Biomedical Volunteer Engagement Representative for the Region. In this role, I proudly serve over 200 volunteers who provide mission-critical services in communities. 90% of our services are carried out by a dedicated, committed and a passionate volunteer workforce. I am humbled and in awe of the generosity of our volunteer workforce and donors.
The involvement of volunteers and donors enables us to extend our services and meet humanitarian needs throughout the Country. Whether we are providing life-saving blood, responding to fires or natural disasters, providing services to the Armed Forces or providing community education, your generosity will enhance our ability to be in a constant state of readiness.
Over this past year, we have seen the best in humanity and we were able to pivot our resources to respond to the crisis. Our organization continued to provide humanitarian services during unprecedented times. Natural disasters, home fires and blood supply needs remained constant, and the Red Cross adapted and continued service delivery during turbulent times. The Red Cross began collecting Convalescent Plasma, testing blood products for COVID-19 antibodies, provided vaccination support/masks/resources, and consistently met the needs of Local, State and National requests.
I could not be more proud to be an ambassador for American Red Cross, and ask for your generosity in advancing our ability to deploy our resources and be present in our communities.
