These trio of hardback books will delight nature lovers. Inheritors of the Earth by biologist Chris D. Thomas shows how human activity is helping nature grow and change in an age of extinction. Butterfly People by historian William Leach tells about 19th-centutry America's infatuation with butterflies and the naturalists who unveiled their mysteries. A Blessing of Toads by nature writer and watercolor illustrator Sharon Lovejoy is "a gardener's guide to living with nature." The latter book has some water damage on the early pages, but who can resist chapters titled "The Bumblebee Rumba," "Skunk Scentsibilities," and "Outwitted by Squirrels"?
