This photograph on aluminum was taken by local avian photographer and osprey watcher extraordinaire Joanne Adams. It shows the male osprey in Wiscasset Harbor, Maine, bringing a meal to the last fledgling in the nest.
When the time comes to migrate, the female leaves first and the fledglings follow alone when they are ready. The male waits behind until all have left the nest before he, too, journeys south.
Photographs on aluminum have an almost 3D look in the right light. They are lightweight and come with a hanger on the back.
The streak down the center of this photograph is reflected light and not a defect.
