4 David Bowie Mashup Prints
Cultural mashups made, provided and signed by Todd Alcott.
Includes:
- "China Girl" re-imagines the classic 1983 David Bowie hit (co-written with Iggy Pop in 1977) as the cover of a 1950s pulp thriller.
- "Suffragette City" re-imagines the classic 1972 David Bowie song as a 1910s poster for Women's suffrage.
- "Rebel Rebel" re-imagines the classic 1974 David Bowie song as the poster for a 1970s sex-change exploitation movie.
- "The Man who Sold the World" reimagines the cryptic and evocative lyrics, inspired by numerous poems with Bowie's "haunting" vocals.
Todd Alcott is a writer and graphic artist living in the Los Angeles area. He is best known in the movie world as the co-author of the screenplay for Dreamworks' animated feature Antz. In 2015 he began working in the graphic arts, creating "cultural mashups" that re-imagine popular songs as the covers of paperback novels, movie posters, magazine covers and many other cultural ephemera.
These are fine art giclee prints on acid free, 330gsm, 100% cotton rag paper with a bright smooth finish.
Black matte frames.
